Holy Monday 01:57
Meditate on John 12:12-19 (KJV) 12 On the next day much people that were come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, 13 Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord. 14 And Jesus, when he had found a young ass, sat thereon; as it is written, 15 Fear not, daughter of Sion: behold, thy King cometh, sitting on an ass's colt. 16 These things understood not his disciples at the first: but when Jesus was glorified, then remembered they that these things were written of him, and that they had done these things unto him. 17 The people therefore that was with him when he called Lazarus out of his grave, and raised him from the dead, bare record. 18 For this cause the people also met him, for that they heard that he had done this miracle. 19 The Pharisees therefore said among themselves, Perceive ye how ye prevail nothing? behold, the world is gone after him.

Holy Tuesday 01:58
Meditate on John 12:20-36 (KJV) 20 And there were certain Greeks among them that came up to worship at the feast: 21 The same came therefore to Philip, which was of Bethsaida of Galilee, and desired him, saying, Sir, we would see Jesus. 22 Philip cometh and telleth Andrew: and again Andrew and Philip tell Jesus. 23 And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified. 24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. 25 He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal. 26 If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour. 27 Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour. 28 Father, glorify thy name. Then came there a voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.

Meditate on Luke 7:36-50 (KJV) 36 And one of the Pharisees desired him that he would eat with him. And he went into the Pharisee's house, and sat down to meat. 37 And, behold, a woman in the city, which was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at meat in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster box of ointment, 38 And stood at his feet behind him weeping, and began to wash his feet with tears, and did wipe them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment. 39 Now when the Pharisee which had bidden him saw it, he spake within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of woman this is that toucheth him: for she is a sinner. 40 And Jesus answering said unto him, Simon, I have somewhat to say unto thee. And he saith, Master, say on. 41 There was a certain creditor which had two debtors: the one owed five hundred pence, and the other fifty. 42 And when they had nothing to pay, he frankly forgave them both. Tell me therefore, which of them will love him most? 43 Simon answered and said, I suppose that he, to whom he forgave most. And he said unto him, Thou hast rightly judged. 44 And he turned to the woman, and said unto Simon, Seest thou this woman? I entered into thine house, thou gavest me no water for my feet: but she hath washed my feet with tears, and wiped them with the hairs of her head. 45 Thou gavest me no kiss: but this woman since the time I came in hath not ceased to kiss my feet. 46 My head with oil thou didst not anoint: but this woman hath anointed my feet with ointment. 47 Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little. 48 And he said unto her, Thy sins are forgiven. 49 And they that sat at meat with him began to say within themselves, Who is this that forgiveth sins also? 50 And he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace.

Reclining at the table Surrounded by His friends Celebrating the Feast “Can you hear the cries of the lambs being slaughtered?” A betrayer among them Surely not I, Lord! His future fixed “Can you hear the cries of the lambs being slaughtered?” A blessing for bread The blessing of body Receive the blessing “Can you hear the cries of the lambs being slaughtered?” A blessing for the cup The blessing of blood Receive the blessing “Can you hear the cries of the lambs being slaughtered?” A new covenant The forgiveness of sins Poured out for humanity “Can you hear the cries of the lambs being slaughtered?” Never again, until Kingdom comes Never again, until Kingdom comes Never again, until Kingdom comes “Can you hear the cries of the lambs being slaughtered?”

Resurrection: The earth has recorded many sounds of triumph, Since her inception of ‘Let There Be’. The sound of a bud exploding into a flower, The sound of dew dripping from green leaves, The sound of birds singing in the treetops, The sound of wolves howling in the moonlight, The sound of mighty whales in the oceans deep, The sound of waves restlessly beating out their cadence, The sound of the winds from the four corners, The sound of bull frogs in full harmony, The sound of a purring momma cat with her kittens, The sound of a grunting pig in a new mudhole, The sound of rushing water down a steep ravine, The sound of raindrops on dry ground, The sound of thunder amongst glowing clouds, All of these sounds are the sounds of triumph and life. Man has recorded many sounds of triumph, Since our inception of ‘Let Us Make Man’. The sound of the ‘just born’ crying, The sound of comforting words, The sound of many voices lifted, The sound of kindred spirits united, The sound of hugging and laughter, The sound of sorrow turned to joy, The sound of clapping hands, The sound of stomping feet, The sound of chants and singing, The sound of tongues known and unknown, The sound of instruments played in abandon, The sound of praise, The sound of worship, All of these sounds are the sounds of triumph and life.

about

This EP is a short collection of written meditations and passages of Scripture with short musical accompaniments for the observance of Holy Week. The meditations are gathered in a PDF file with the download or in the lyrics for each track.

The idea behind this EP is to read the individual meditations and passages of Scripture, then listen to the corresponding musical accompaniment. You can also read the mediations and passages as you listen. Either way, we pray that you will be encouraged in your journey during Holy Week or whenever you journey through this EP.
